Congress
It is already three years ago that social media god Mark Zuckerburg bought virtual reality company Oculus Rift for an amount of 2 billion dollars. He thinks this relatively new technology has a lot of potential and expects it to play an important role on areas like education and healthcare. In other words, virtual reality is going to have a very important role in future communication.
That is why Mercurius organises an international congress about virtual reality! This congress will take place on the 6th of April from 17:45 till 22:00 at Roeterseilandcampus. For our congress, we invited multiple speakers who will tell students all about this relatively new phenomenon in relation to marketing and communication.
The congress will start with a lecture from Scopic. Scopic is a VR studio based in Amsterdam. They are specialised in productions of 360 video. The studio combines technological innovation with a unique approach to the new forms of virtual reality. With this, they create high-end experiences and they work together with leading companies like KLM, ING and Hardwell.
Workshops
After the lecture, there will be workshops given by Quirijn van der Goes and Social Brothers.
Quirijn van der Goes studied politicology at the University of Amsterdam and is Enterprise Product Alignment manager at Centic. At Centric, he used virtual reality to creat an image of what the tunnel under the A2 will look like. In his workshop he will tell about how virtual reality works and which possibilities it has.
Social Brothers is a company specialised in online marketing, virtual reality and apps. They help companies in Holland explore the possibilities of using virtual reality. On the congress, they will talk about the marketing aspect of virtual reality.
